To start in September 2020, we are seeking a Teaching Assistant for 32.5 hours per week, term time only (34 weeks) who has the ability to provide additional support in a number of different guises. The successful applicant will be required to support an individual Year 7 pupil with muscular dystrophy and also to support subject teachers in the classroom setting in the core subjects. The overall aim is to ensure that the Year 7 pupil has full access to the curriculum at school and to encourage, whenever possible, the pupil to become an independent learner. Where support is not required at key points in the day, the post holder will be required to provide additional academic help within the classroom to less able pupils. The successful candidate will be expected to work within a small team that communicates effectively with all stakeholders for the named pupil, as well as being an effective communicator in a wider academic context across the School.

You will need to be educated to GCSE level or equivalent in English and Maths and it is desirable that you hold a Specialist Teaching Assistant Award or NNEB or relevant NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
