Serving the bustling city of Sheffield, Outwood Academy City was constructed in 2011 with state-of-the-art facilities and joined Outwood Grange Academies Trust three years later. The school has undergone a huge transformation for its 1000 students, with an innovative curriculum and a personalised approach to learning enabling them to realise their vocational, practical, creative and academic abilities. This was recognised by Ofsted in February 2019, when the academy was judged ‘Good with Outstanding Leadership’. Inspectors noted that, “Leaders and teachers demonstrate high expectations for all pupils. They are determined that pupils achieve well in their subjects”.

We are looking to appoint a teacher of Physical Education and Science. The post is a key appointment in terms of enhancing and ensuring the positive life chances for our students through success and achievement.

As such we are keen to recruit a dedicated and ambitious professional who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.

An excellent knowledge and understanding of the subject is essential as is a passion for PE & Science. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of ‘students first; raising standards and transforming lives’. Your relentless drive will ensure our students gain the best possible outcomes.

As part of a growing multi-academy trust, the successful candidate will be well supported and have access to a range of high quality professional development through the Outwood Institute of Education.

If you have any questions, please contact: h.keenan@city.outwood.com, you are also invited to visit the academy by arrangement.
